FAQ – Gold Plated & Anti-Tarnish Jewellery Questions

About the jewellery
Is ENSIA jewellery real gold?
It is 18K gold plated: a real layer of 18-karat gold bonded over a stainless steel base. It is not solid gold. That is why a pair of hoops costs Rs. 799 rather than Rs. 40,000, and why it looks and wears like gold without the price.
Does gold plated jewellery tarnish?
Ordinary gold plated jewellery does, because it is usually plated over brass or copper — metals that oxidise and turn dark or green when they meet sweat. ENSIA plates over stainless steel, which does not oxidise, and then seals the gold with a clear anti-tarnish coat. In normal daily wear the finish holds; if it fades within six months, we replace the piece.
Will it turn my skin green?
No. Green marks are copper oxide from brass or copper bases. There is no copper in ENSIA's base metal.
Is it safe for sensitive skin and ears?
Yes. Every piece is nickel-free and hypoallergenic. Stainless steel is the same metal used for surgical implants and body-piercing jewellery.
Can I wear it in the shower, gym or rain?
Yes. Showers, sweat, hand-washing and monsoon rain are fine. Take pieces off for chlorinated pools and the sea, and rinse with fresh water if you forget.
What are the stones and pearls?
High-quality crystals, glass pearls and enamel — not natural gemstones or freshwater pearls. They are set, not glued, on most designs.
How do I care for it?
Put jewellery on after perfume, lotion and hairspray, not before. Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear and store it in the ENSIA pouch. Full details are in our care guide.
Sizing
Are rings adjustable?
Most are. Adjustable rings have an open band that fits roughly Indian sizes 12–18 with a gentle squeeze. Fixed-size rings say so on the product page.
How do cuffs and bangles fit?
Open cuffs adjust to wrists of about 14–18 cm. Closed bangles are 6.0–6.5 cm inner diameter. Chain bracelets are 16–17 cm plus a 3–4 cm extender. See the size guide.
How long are the necklaces?
Most chains are 40–45 cm with a 5 cm extender, sitting at or just below the collarbone. Exact lengths are on each product page.
Ordering, delivery and payment
How much is delivery?
Free, across India, on every order — no minimum.
How long does delivery take?
We dispatch within 24–48 hours. Metro cities usually receive orders in 3–5 working days; the rest of India in 4–7. You get a tracking link by SMS and email when it ships.
Do you offer Cash on Delivery?
Yes, across India. There is a small COD handling fee, paid at checkout; the rest is paid to the courier on delivery. Prepaid orders get 5% off at checkout.
Which payment methods do you accept?
UPI, credit and debit cards, net banking, wallets and Cash on Delivery, through a secure GoKwik checkout.
Is there a first-order discount?
Yes — 10% off with code WELCOME10, one use per customer.
Do you ship outside India?
Not yet. We ship to every pin code in India.
Returns and the 6-month promise
What is the 6-month anti-tarnish promise?
If the gold finish fades or discolours under normal wear within six months of delivery, we replace the piece. Send a photo on WhatsApp with your order number; there is no form to fill. It covers the finish, not breakage, bending, lost stones from impact, or damage from chemicals.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Message us within 7 days of delivery with a photo and we send a replacement. If the same design is out of stock, you can pick another piece of the same value or take a refund.
Can I return something I changed my mind about?
For hygiene reasons we don't accept change-of-mind returns on earrings and body-contact jewellery once opened. If a piece arrives and is clearly not what you ordered, we fix it at no cost.
